iMac (Retina 5K, late 2015) in 64 bit mode?

How can I tell if my iMac (Retina 5K, late 2015) is running in 64 bit mode or not?

OS 10.11.6

Is there software that would let me set it to 64 or 32?

Thanks.

some apps will be 64bit some would be 32bit not sure what your expectations are to 64bit mostly it just mean that the app can use more then 4GB memory, if the app does not have such a huge memory usage it will not be faster really from being 64bit

start up the app called Activity monitor, right click on the column bar and check the checkbox called kind it will make a column called kind which will display each of your processes status in terms of 32bit / 64bit
